Vijay Becomes Tamil Nadu Chief Minister After Proving Majority Support

TVK chief Vijay has taken oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after securing majority support in the 234-member Assembly. The development marks a historic political shift in the state, ending the long dominance of the DMK-AIADMK era.

TVK chief and actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay has been sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after proving majority support in the Assembly. Reports said TVK secured the backing of supporting parties, taking its strength to 120 MLAs, crossing the required majority mark of 118 in the 234-member House.
Vijay’s rise to the Chief Minister’s post marks a major political turning point in Tamil Nadu. His party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, emerged as a powerful force in the election and has now successfully formed the government after days of political suspense over alliance arithmetic and majority support.
The oath-taking marks the beginning of a new political chapter in the state. With Vijay entering office as Chief Minister, attention will now shift to cabinet formation, policy announcements and the first major decisions of the new TVK-led government.
